Rana (meaning "frog" in Spanish) is a young boy who is the son of Cattleya and Owen.
Appearance[]
Rana is a boy, but his appearance resembles that of a young girl's. He wears a headband (with the same design as his father's) and what appears to be a purple dress, as well as a beaded turquoise necklace.
Personality[]
Rana shares his mother's courage in not backing down to opponents, even to the likes of Aldra. He always enters battles with his mother, yet never gets in her way. He has grown quite fond of Airi, who took him in after Aldra imprisoned Cattleya in stone. Surprisingly, Airi herself also grew very fond of Rana, which is odd considering Airi typically shows no affection whatsoever.
Abilities[]
Rana doesn't possess many unique abilities. The only weapons he has ever wielded were Cattleya's spear and Airi's scythe, commanding them adequately. He is very knowledgeable in weaponsmithing despite his young age, as he once helped Ymir re-forge Leina's sword during his mother's absence.
Trivia[]
- He is voiced by Rie Kugimiya (Japanese) and Eva Christensen (English), with the latter also voicing his mother in the English dub.
- Rana is extremely attached to his mother.
- "Rana" is the Sanskrit word for "king" (and also the male counterpart to "Rani," which means "queen"). It's also used as a first name for boys in South Asia. In Arabic, it's used as a female name and can mean "beautiful," "gorgeous," "tall and slender woman," "glittering object," or "noticeable". It's additionally a name used in Nordic and Scandinavian cultures, particularly among the Sámi, that means "green earth" or "fertile fields," being taken from the mythological goddess Rana Niejta.
