Queen's Blade Wiki

I've been a fan of Queen's Blade - and its related series of Queen's Blade Rebellion, Queen's Gate, and Queen's Blade Grimoire - for a little while now, and my enthusiasm for it continues to grow.

However, the more I look at it the more I notice that this is a series whose continuity is...I think perhaps that "smudgy" is the best word for it. Simply put, while the major elements of Queen's Blade are common across its various iterations, the details are not.

Some of this is inevitable. Between the game books, the anime, the various manga, the video games, the drama CDs, the collectible card game, the illustrated stories, the online profiles, the art books, and several other media that I doubtlessly forgot, some wires were bound to get crossed.

But even taking that into consideration, a lot of the "canon" of QB is, to be blunt, a mess. For example, I would have thought it obvious that someone would have put together a tournament chart (the kind they always use during basketball) showing how the Queen's Blade tournament progressed. But no one has...and putting one together is no easy task, considering how the various media disagree on who fought who, and who won.

For example, in the anime Cattleya fought Ymir (who had, if I recall correctly, already lost to Leina anyway) and won, yet Cattleya doesn't seem to fight in the tournament after that (again, that I remember).

Contrast this with the Queen's Blade: Hide & Seek manga, where Risty is surprised to hear that Cattleya lost to Melona. But according to the Queen's Blade: Perfect Visual Book, Cattleya won that fight. This is pretty well indicative of the problem.

Luckily, there's something of an understanding regarding what sources are canon and what aren't...or at least, what overrides what insofar as the canon goes. But it's still difficult to put together an official picture of how everything went down.

That's a big part of why I joined this wiki. Hopefully we'll be able to figure it out.
